With the 2024-25 NSW Budget due to be delivered next week, Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch is calling for more substance and delivery for the Central Coast rather than re-announcement and talk from the Minns Labor Government.
“Talk is cheap, and under the Minns Labor Government we have seen out of control spending, cuts left and right, and $1.65 billion lost in GST revenue which means the pressure is on for the State Government to deliver for our region.”
“We’re doing it tough as cost-of-living pressures continue to strangle Central Coast locals and household debt continues to climb, and thanks to this Government’s cuts to cost-of-living supports, it will only become tougher.”
“Under the former Liberal-National Government, we received millions of dollars in funding for road infrastructure, hospital upgrades and community infrastructure – last year’s budget delivered nothing but re-announcement after re-announcement of funding already allocated by the former Government.” said Mr Crouch.
Mr Crouch said that despite the self-inflicted budget mismanagement wounds, this year’s Budget needed to deliver for the region, and he had written to the Premier and Treasurer to stress the importance of funding for local projects.
“I’m calling on the Minns Labor Government to actually deliver for the Central Coast, rather than re-announce funding already provided by the former Liberal-National Government.”
“This includes funding for the upgrade of Avoca Drive and the Tumbi Road intersection, reversal of the heartless $250 million of palliative cuts and the re-introduction of cost-of-living supports for households.”
