With one day to go until the end of August, Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch has called on the Minister for Agriculture to provide answers as to why no update has been provided to the community on the Terrigal Offshore Artificial Reef.
Mr Crouch said that he asked Minister Moriarty in May for a detailed timeline of construction deployment of the artificial reef, with the Minister advising the artificial reef was set for deployment in August.
“Since the initial answer in May, it has been complete radio silence from Minister Moriarty on the future of the Terrigal Offshore Artificial Reef.”
“I wrote to the Minister early in August asking for an update on the project, however with one day left until August I fear that this government has forgotten about this important environmental investment.”
Mr Crouch said Minister Moriarty owes an explanation to the community as to why updates and timelines on the project haven’t been forthcoming.
“The former Liberal-National recognised the importance of artificial reefs to our marine environment and local community, deploying ten offshore artificial reefs during government.”
“The groundwork has already been laid and the contract awarded, where’s our reef Minister?”
