Tickets on sale for Great Southern Nights gigs

Tickets are now on sale for 23 gigs at local venues this November as part of an Australia-first music event, Great Southern Nights.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said Great Southern Nights is a NSW Government initiative created to kick-start the recovery of the live music, hospitality and tourism industries.

“It’s so exciting that big-name artists like Bag Raiders, Kate Ceberano, Sons of the East, Shane Nicholson and Ninajirachi will be performing on the Coast in a few weeks’ time,” Mr Crouch said.

“Our community has been confronted with the triple whammy of fires, floods and COVID-19 this year, so these events will be a fantastic morale-booster.

“This will also encourage locals and visitors to get out and explore restaurants, cafes, bars and shops across the Central Coast.”

Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said NSW would come alive in November with gigs taking place in many of the State’s greatest music venues, pubs, bars, bowling clubs and wineries.

“The NSW Government is proud to be getting artists, roadies, venues, hospitality staff and tourism businesses back to work through this ambitious initiative and now it’s over to the public to show their support by booking tickets to a gig or two, or more,” Mr Ayres said.

ARIA CEO Dan Rosen said the Great Southern Nights program was unrivaled by any Australian music event that has come before it.

“This event is innovative, gives back directly to artists and venues and is the only of its kind ever undertaken in this country. This is an important moment for the Australian music industry and we can’t wait to see the shows getting underway from 5 November,” Mr Rosen said.

Tickets can be booked and the gig guide can be viewed at: www.greatsouthernnights.com.au.
