Motorists on Empire Bay Drive are now enjoying smoother and safer journeys, with a $2.8 million resurfacing project completed.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said the NSW Government funded the $2.8 million maintenance work on a 1.7 kilometre section of Empire Bay Drive between Nerang Road and Wandi Close.

“Transport for NSW engaged Central Coast Council to carry out the work, which has been underway since 19 May and consisted of night work shifts,” Mr Crouch said.

“19,000 motorists travel along this section of road each day, which forms a vital link between Kincumber, Bensville, Empire Bay and suburbs on the Peninsula like Ettalong Beach.

“The old road surface was scattered with potholes and this resurfacing project will ensure smoother and safer trips for Central Coast residents.

“I also want to thank local residents who live along Empire Bay Drive for their patience while the night work was undertaken.”

Mr Crouch said the work had helped to support the Central Coast economy.

“Over the past four months, this project has supported 20 local jobs and three local suppliers,” Mr Crouch said.

“The NSW Government is pulling every economic lever available to keep people in jobs and businesses in business during these difficult times.”
