The Central Coast community will be a safer place with the addition of six Police officers, who have completed months of training and attested at a private ceremony at the Goulburn Police Academy on Friday.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said the six Probationary Constables would be allocated to Tuggerah Lakes Police District.
“Police put their own safety on the line to protect others every day and I commend these new recruits for their dedication to community safety,” Mr Crouch said.
“These new recruits to the NSW Police Force have undertaken world-class training at the Goulburn Police Academy over the past eight months, which has helped to prepare them for any challenges they will encounter over the space of their policing careers.
“On behalf of our community I want to welcome the six new officers to the Tuggerah Lakes Police District.”
Member of the Legislative Council Taylor Martin said the new Police officers come at an important time for NSW.
“Our new Police officers are a much-needed boost to the Central Coast community and they will be a great help to us as we continue to face the COVID-19 crisis,” Mr Martin said.
“This most recent allocation forms part of the NSW Liberal Government’s election commitment of 1,500 extra officers over the next four years, which is the biggest increase in over 30 years.”
Police Commissioner Mick Fuller APM said the latest intake of Probationary Constables would provide a valuable and timely boost to Police resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our newest Probationary Constables from Class 342 leave the Academy during unprecedented times, they will face challenges in their first few months that I won’t have experienced when I joined,” Commissioner Fuller said.
