Hospitality workers will be the focus at Central Coast Local Health District’s mass vaccination clinics, operating this Sunday between 7.00am and 3.00pm at Gosford and Wyong Hospitals.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said the mass vaccination clinics will be offering AstraZeneca vaccines on a first-in first-served basis.

“Getting everyone vaccinated means cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs can safely re-open,” Mr Crouch said.

“The NSW Government’s roadmap makes it clear that only fully vaccinated people can participate in the freedoms once we reach the 70 per cent milestone. That’s why we’re encouraging hospitality workers to get vaccinated now.”

Mr Crouch said Gosford and Wyong Hospitals have the capacity to administer 1,200 vaccines this Sunday.

“Last Sunday there were just 615 vaccines administered so I am urging more people to roll up their sleeve and take advantage of this opportunity to be protected against COVID-19,” Mr Crouch said.

“The latest data shows that 62,605 people on the Central Coast still haven’t received a single dose of the vaccine.

“The AstraZeneca vaccine is safe, effective and free. Anyone who is over the age of 18, who is not pregnant and who does not have medical contraindications can receive an AstraZeneca vaccine now.”

People attending Gosford and Wyong Hospitals on Sunday are asked to bring a mobile phone, photo ID and their Medicare Card.

The Federal Government is responsible for supply and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. NSW Health continues to work closely with the Federal Government to plan and implement a safe and effective vaccination program.
