Following the release of the Administrator’s final report yesterday, Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch has renewed his calls for a Public Inquiry into Central Coast Council’s financial situation.
Mr Crouch said every effort must be made to prevent the Councillors from returning to their former positions.
“The overwhelmingly majority of our community has no confidence in the ability of the Councillors,” Mr Crouch said.
“It would be reckless to allow these Councillors to return and wreak even more havoc, which is why I am directly petitioning the Local Government Minister for a Public Inquiry.
“Under the Local Government Act, the only option to prevent the Councillors returning is for the Local Government Minister to establish a Public Inquiry.
“A Public Inquiry would expose who was responsible for the debt totalling $565 million, and help to ensure these terrible mistakes and failings are never repeated.”
