Four community organisations on the Central Coast will receive $233,500 in funding for much-needed upgrades and renovations.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said the following recipients were successful in securing funding through NSW Government’s Infrastructure Grants program.
– Marine Rescue, Tuggerah Lakes Unit – $56,586.00
– Avoca Beach Rugby Club – $72,000.00
– Copacabana Rural Fire Brigade – $59,803.00
– Hope and Wish Foundation, Bar Point – $45,110.00
“This funding will give Tuggerah Lakes Marine Rescue, Avoca Beach Ruby Club, Copacabana Rural Fire Brigade and Hope and Wish Foundation the chance to undertake upgrades that will benefit the Central Coast community,” Mr Crouch said.
“These grants will make a real difference to these four valuable grassroots organisations whose members contribute many hours of their time to support their communities.
“Community organisations are the backbone of the Central Coast and this funding will enable them to strengthen and continue their amazing work.”
Minister for Digital and Customer Service Victor Dominello said not for profit organisations with a clear vision on how to create value for their communities are ideal candidates for the grants.
“This year $12.5 million is available in funding to support the construction or upgrade of facilities across the state in sport and recreation, arts and culture, disaster readiness and community infrastructure,” Mr Dominello said.
“Many organisations on the Central Coast struggled to maintain sports, cultural and other social activities during the pandemic so it’s great to see these projects giving a boost to community spirit.”
Marine Rescue NSW Deputy Commissioner Corporate Services, Todd Andrews, said the grant would enable the volunteers of the MR Tuggerah Unit to more effectively undertake their vital work of saving lives on the water.
“With the bar at The Entrance too dangerous for navigation, the new rescue vehicle will give our volunteers the flexibility they need to tow their new rescue vessel quickly and safely to wherever it is required, whether within the Tuggerah Lakes or further afield.”
Since 2013, the NSW Government has funded over 536 community projects worth $105 million under the Infrastructure Grants program.
