With almost 6,000 Central Coast residents tested for COVID-19, Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Adam Crouch has welcomed news the number of new cases on the Coast has plateaued over the past few days.
Mr Crouch said of the 117 people who had tested positive for the coronavirus, two were still inpatients, none had required ICU care and 81 patients have been released from isolation.
“While these are very promising figures for the Central Coast, the next fortnight will be critical and I hope people continue to listen to the advice from Government and continue to behave appropriately,” Mr Crouch said.
“Never before have we needed the community to be so vigilant.”
Mr Crouch said appropriate levels of testing on the Central Coast continued at the COVD-19 clinics at both Gosford and Wyong hospitals.
“I am calling on people with the slightest respiratory symptoms – cough, sore throat, shortness of breath or fever – to attend one of the COVID-19 clinics for testing,” he said.
“I understand the criteria for testing has been relaxed, so if you have any symptoms at all, please get tested.”
The number for the Gosford Hospital COVID-19 clinic is 4320 5055. It’s open Monday to Friday, 9am and 5pm, and 10am to 4pm on weekends.
