$15 Million Boost For Social Housing In Gosford

Keys are now in the doors of 41 new apartments for people in need, following the completion of a seven-storey social housing development in Gosford.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Adam Crouch said the $15.34 million project is delivering a much-needed social housing boost on the Central Coast and providing 50 residents a safe place to call home.

“This development sets a new benchmark for high-quality social housing, with 20 two-bedroom and 21 one-bedroom modern and fit-for-purpose units,” Mr Crouch said.

“A further 5 projects, potentially delivering up to 45 more social homes in the Central Coast region, are currently in design and are planned to be lodged with council in late 2022 or early 2023.

“It’s all part of our work to create more social housing across the state, with a pipeline of 479 new social homes to be delivered across regional NSW.”

Built on Darkinjung Country, the Beane Street project includes parking for up to 19 vehicles, bicycles, and motorbikes, and is centrally located in the heart of Gosford.

“Construction was completed in record time as part of the NSW Government’s fast-tracked assessment process and supported around 77 local construction jobs during the pandemic,” Mr Crouch said.

“This is a prime example of the NSW Government’s commitment to increasing much-needed social housing across the Central Coast.

“We’re providing more high-quality housing for people in need, which is modern, accessible, and close to schools and public transport.

“Our upcoming investment in social housing on the Central Coast will create local jobs, generate business for local suppliers, and keep the local economy moving.”

Central Coast based Pacific Link is the community housing partner managing the property.
