Budget Failure For The Terrigal Electorate

Jun 19, 2024

The 2024-25 NSW Budget has been delivered by the NSW Treasurer and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said that this year’s Budget is even worse than the 2023-24 Budget.

“I didn’t think it could be done but this year’s Budget is by far and away the worst Budget for the people of my Electorate, with the Minns Labor Government appearing to willingly abandon the people of the Central Coast during a cost-of-living crisis.”

“This year’s Labor Budget reinforces the appalling broken promises and wrong priorities of this miserable Minns Labor Government, with no detail at all, blanket statements across the board and reannouncement after announcement of previously funded projects.”

As part of the 2024-25 Budget, public schools across the Terrigal Electorate will receive no new funding for school upgrades, no new funding for any childcare centres as part of the Minns Government’s promise for 100 new public preschools and no cost-of-living relief measures for struggling households.

“The people of my Electorate have been completely dudded with this Budget, with Resource Allocation Model (RAM) funding for schools going backwards under Labor, zero funding for the development of a brand-new TAFE in Gosford, and a smoke and mirrors announcement about housing on the Central Coast.”

“The only funding for infrastructure in this year’s Budget is $11.037 million for to continue planning for the upgrade of Avoca Drive, which is only as a result of my long and hard campaign for our community.” said Mr Crouch.

For background:

The 2024-25 NSW Budget was handed down on the 18th of June with no new funding for projects across the Central Coast. This includes:

  • No funding for the continuation of the upgrade of the Central Coast Highway from Wamberal to Bateau Bay
  • No funding for a brand-new ambulance station at Kincumber
  • $1.2 million in funding for a traffic study to investigate intersection improvements at Wards Hill Road, Empire Bay
  • No funding for the upgrade of Shelly Beach Road at Empire Bay, considering the Federal Government’s failure to commit funding for the upgrade.
  • No funding for an upgrade of the Terrigal Police Station.
  • No funding for the development of a brand-new state of the art TAFE campus in Gosford
  • No funding for the redevelopment of the Macmasters Beach Rural Fire Service Station
