Each year Members of Parliament have the opportunity to recognise outstanding individuals who have worked to make positive contributions to those in their Electorate through the prestigious Community Service Award
This year, Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch was delighted to nominate and award Dr. Michael Mitchelmore and Ms. Taia Sansom for the NSW Government Community Service Award in recognition of their remarkable service to the Central Coast Community.
“The Community Service Award is a fantastic opportunity to recognise two individuals in the Terrigal Electorate for their efforts to make a real, positive difference in the community and I could not think of two more deserving individuals than Dr. Michael Mitchelmore and Taia Sansom.”
“Mike’s tenacity and dedication was instrumental in coordinating the establishment of the Copacabana Men’s Shed, a project that he has championed since the very beginning in 2018, securing a number of NSW Government grants and community support to build the Copacabana Men’s Shed which was opened on the 13th of March 2023.” said Mr. Crouch
“Similarly, Taia has been a passionate advocate for the communities of Yattalunga, Davistown and Saratoga as President of the 3 Villages Community Group through her tireless volunteer work.”
“Whether it be championing an upgrade of the Jirramba Playground or securing NSW Government funding for a new picnic area at the Lintern Street wharf, Taia has always worked relentlessly to help improve her local community.”
Mr Crouch said both Dr. Mitchelmore and Ms. Sansom should be especially proud of their commitment to their local community and thanked them for their efforts.
“Volunteering time to improve our community can often be a thankless task, but Mike and Taia are driven by a genuine desire to improve the community and it is their selflessness and dedication that truly make a difference,” he said.
“I extend my sincerest congratulations to Mike and Taia on receiving the Community Service Award and express my profound gratitude for their continuous contributions to our community.”
