$8 Million Boost For Gosford Racecourse

Gosford Racecourse is set to benefit from $8 million in funding from the NSW Government to construct an additional 200 stables.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch visited Gosford Racecourse with Minister for Racing Kevin Anderson today to announce the funding.

“This funding comes as part of a larger $11.4 million investment in Gosford including the recently opened all-weather polytrack,” Mr Crouch said.

“The racing industry employs more than 850 people across the Central Coast and that is why the NSW Government is partnering with Racing NSW to help the industry grow in our region.”

“These new facilities mean that Central Coast trainers will be able to expand their operations which in turn provides additional employment opportunities for our locals who have a passion for the industry.

“This, combined with the new track, will mean racing in Gosford gallops from strength to strength.

“I would like to congratulate Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Lacey and the rest of the team at The Entertainment Grounds in receiving this funding which I know will provide a massive benefit to our regional facility.”

Minister for Racing Kevin Anderson said this funding comes as part of the NSW Government’s record investment in regional racecourses in NSW and recognises the important role that racing makes to the state’s economy.

“The NSW Government is committed to supporting the thoroughbred racing industry here in the Central Coast by investing in these valuable upgrades to tracks and stables,” Mr Anderson said.

“This funding comes as part of a $67 million funding package as we work with the thoroughbred industry to help it grow right around NSW. You don’t need to go to Sydney to enjoy a day of high quality racing and this will only get better thanks to these capital upgrades made possible by the NSW Government.”
