Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Adam Crouch is encouraging the region’s hundreds of Early Childhood Education facilities to apply for grants of up to $10,000 from the NSW Government.
Mr Crouch said community preschools, not-for-profit day care services and mobile preschools can receive funding through the annual Community Grants Program.
“We want every child on the Central Coast, regardless of their background, to have access to 600 hours of quality Early Childhood Education in the two years before school,” Mr Crouch said.
“Funding from the Community Grants Program can be used to promote educational access for children from low income families and Aboriginal children, as well as initiatives that will improve educational experiences or outcomes for children already attending a service.”
Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning Sarah Mitchell said this a great opportunity for services to boost their funding to assist them with extra costs they are unable cover.
“Providing funding through the Community Grants Program ensures that the NSW Government delivers practical support to services where it’s needed most. This is particularly important when addressing the impact of COVID-19 on Aboriginal children and children experiencing disadvantage,” Mrs Mitchell said.
Applications will remain open until Friday, 6 August and grant payments are expected to be made in December.
