Artworks and performances from 11 of the Central Coast’s top students have been selected to go on show at exhibitions and galleries across NSW this year.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said the 11 students, who completed their HSC in 2020, were among the State’s top creative achievers.
“The creative and design achievements of these 11 local students will be displayed alongside 400 of NSW’s best inventions, designs, performances, writings and artworks from the 2020 HSC,” Mr Crouch said.
“Each of these students were able to excel in a year of unprecedented challenges and disruptions, including the triple whammy of bushfires, floods and COVID-19 we experienced on the Central Coast.
“It’s very worthy recognition and a huge achievement to feature in prestigious locations like the Art Gallery of NSW, Powerhouse Museum and the Armory at Sydney Olympic Park.”
Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell said she was impressed at the level of work achieved.
“The works on display across these exhibitions is mature, thoughtful and highlights the tremendous capacity for critical thinking, innovation and creativity in NSW schools,” Mrs Mitchell said.
Metro and regional galleries will be displaying the works of Visual Arts students between February and October, while the performances of Drama, Music and Dance students will be available online throughout the month of April.
