Central Coast residents are undergoing COVID-19 testing en-masse, with new figures released today revealing more than 23,000 tests have been conducted by the Central Coast Local Health District.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said of the 23,000 tests, more than 2,000 have been conducted in the past week alone.

“I want to thank everyone in our community who has come forward and been tested,” Mr Crouch said.

“The fantastic staff at Gosford and Wyong Hospitals have overseen a total of 23,009 COVID-19 tests between 30 March and 26 July.

“This is in addition to more than 14,000 undertaken at EV Church, Erina.”

Mr Crouch said complacency is the new killer.

“NSW is at a critical point in our fight against COVID-19 and we cannot let our guard down,” Mr Crouch said.

“This is the time to be vigilant. We need people to continue to get tested even if they have the mildest of symptoms, we need businesses to follow and enforce their COVID Safety Plans, and we need people to follow the rules.

“Tests are completely free and available 7 days per week at Gosford, Erina and Wyong.”

To book a COVID-19 test, call 4320 5055 for Gosford between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am and 4pm on weekends, call 0435 813 865 for Erina between 10.30am and 5.30pm every day, or call 4394 9200 for Wyong between 9am and 5pm every day.
